Textural transmission for a performance product testing facility
REDS is R.A.D®’s Running Exploration Department: a dedicated space for product testing and technical running development. It needed its own visual world, distinct enough to stand alone but coherent enough to sit inside R.A.D®’s broader identity without friction. We built a design system rooted in analogue lab culture and scanned industrial ephemera. Like a facility mid-transmission.

Type acts as a textural element, overprinted and repeated to mirror the ‘testing’ theme. Graphic elements from wireframe to crosshairs, grid paper and data micro copy feel like experimental technical schematics. In post-production, grain, distortion and scanned textures were deliberately kept super rough, so it feels like test documentation, not clean brand output.
The identity spans merch, social, and digital, built to keep evolving. Monochrome with a single red accent, it echoes materials repeatedly faxed and re-faxed. Open-ended, slightly degraded and experimental. It’s meant to feel active rather than resolved, as the department constantly in the midst of testing.
